Dan Smither

Dan, along with his wife Rachel and their four daughters, founded Key of Hope in 2007 after a decade of urban ministry in Detroit.

Having lived in South Africa for over 15 years, Dan has been a part of, and witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of Key of Hope, which now supports over 2,500 children weekly. Since then, he has been sharing the remarkable story of God’s faithfulness through events, churches, conferences, and homes.

His compelling stories of faith, sacrifice, and divine intervention, as well as his family's journey of answering God’s call, offer profound inspiration and encouragement. Dan's experiences are sure to leave a lasting impact on any audience.

Paul Dziepak

Paul Dziepak has been an integral part of the Key of Hope team since 2021, where he currently serves as the US Team Leader. With a rich background in ministry and finance, Paul brings over a decade of experience in financial services and has made significant contributions as a church leader as pastoral staff (discipleship & outreach pastor) and currently serves as the campus director at his local church in Goodrich.

Paul’s commitment to the mission of Key of Hope is deeply personal. He has visited Durban multiple times to engage with and support the children there, and his passion for their well-being shines through in the compelling stories he shares. His enthusiasm and dedication make him a dynamic speaker who inspires audiences with his firsthand experiences and the impactful work of Key of Hope.

Rachel Smither

Rachel, alongside her husband Dan and their four daughters—including their youngest, a newborn baby—sold everything and moved to South Africa in response to God's call. Balancing motherhood, family life, and ministry has been a journey of perseverance and grace for Rachel.

A gifted musician, Rachel directs a vibrant African choir that passionately worships God through song and piano. Her musical leadership and dedication to her calling are inspiring. As a regular speaker at women’s events and churches, Rachel shares powerful stories of sacrifice and commitment that resonate deeply with her audiences.

Each speaking engagement can include an Add-On that best suits your service or event!

  • Video can be a powerful tool to show what God is doing through Key of Hope. These short documentary style films include testimonies from real children and young people reached by the Gospel in Africa.

  • Key of Hope will produce an authentic "boots on the ground" video update greeting your congregation, group, and/or leadership by name, and sharing the firsthand impact your generosity makes.

  • Through Google Meet or Zoom, your congregation, small group or event can connect with Dan and/or Rachel and our ministry in Africa, offering a one of a kind interactive experience.
